22 inch Professional 10 Notes Handdrum Handmade Carbon Steel Tongue Drum + Bag. The Hand Pan or Hang Drum is a Steel pan Instrument. The Drum was invented in 2000 in Bern, Switzerland by Sabina Schärer and Felix Rohner. Related to the Steeldrum from Trinidad and the word Hang means hand in Berndeutsch.
The drum is played with hands and fingers. It has a central note called Ding and there are 7 or 8 tone circles around it. The bottom side of the drum is called the Gu, and can be played in a percussive way. When you hit the drum too hard, the drum can easily be off tune. So if you have one, you should play your instrument gently.
